Conditions of Entry 2017 – Primary School Category


  • This award is open to all students in Singapore primary schools from age 7-12 year old.

  • By entering this competition, all participants agree to the reproduction of their artworks for publicity of the award in both print and non-print media. They must also agree to the use of some or all of their artworks as well as photographs of the participants for display by the organisers.

  • Entry for this category is via the Online Entry System only.

  • The closing date is 31st Aug 2017.

  • The judges' decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

  • There is no limit to the number of entries each participant can submit.

  • Illustrations must NOT be published works or works submitted previously for another competition.

  • Participants should acknowledge the original creator if they have made explicit references from others’ artworks.

  • Each entry is encouraged to have a clearly defined illustrative brief, which can be described on the competition entry form. The brief is open. Students may submit work set as coursework by their tutors or they may define their own imagined brief.

  • All images uploaded must be in the JPEG format, using the extension *.jpg.

  • Images must be of a maximum file size of 2.0MB and not larger than 1280 pixels in width.

  • All winners will be announced at the Prize Presentation Ceremony in Nov 2017. Details will be released at a later date.

  • In submitting their artwork(s) for the Young Illustrator Awards, the participant agrees to indemnify the organiser and its partners from all possible infringement of copyrights liability. The participant will be responsible to ensure that the submitted artwork(s) are cleared of copyright infringement and plagiarism. For example, they are not to pretend that they are the creator of somebody else’s artwork(s) or to use copyrighted materials in their own artwork(s) without acknowledging the sources from which they obtained the materials.

  • Plagiarism is strictly prohibited.

  • The organizer reserves the rights to disqualify/refuse any artwork that is deemed to have infringed on copyrights or carried content that is offensive or not appropriate for the purpose of this competition. No correspondence will be entered into.
